La-La Land Crafts Take It Sloth Valentine Card Tutorial

Hello Everyone! I'm so excited to share a fun Valentine Card tutorial using the NEW Take It Sloth Clear Stamp Set.  These little cuties were part of the Love Box, but now you can purchase them in the STORE.  So be sure to pop over there if you missed out on them!

Here is what you will need...

Plus...

Blending Cardstock

Momento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad

Distress Oxide Inks: Cracked Pistachio and Peeled Paint
Ink Blending Tool
Scissors
Polka Dot Patterned Paper
Foam Tape
White Gel Pen

Copic Markers: E30, E31, E34, E35, E37, E49, R22, R24, R27, R56, R59, YG21, YG23, YG67

Step-by-Step:

STEP 1: Cover your blending cardstock with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink.  Then use the It's Snowing Layering Stencil to create darker green stripes with the Peeled Pain Distress Oxide Ink.

STEP 2: Then trim a piece of red polka dot patterned paper to fit the front of your card base.  Mine has been cut to 4x5.25 so that it's slightly smaller than the front of my card (this will give me a white border when my card is finished).  Next, use the Double Stitched Square Die to cut a window in the paper.

STEP 3: Trim the inked square to that it fits behind the window in the polka dot paper.  Then, use the Birch Trees Die to cut 3 trees from kraft cardstock and adhere them to the inked square.  Cut approx. 5 sets of leaves from the Open Leaf Flourish Die in two different colors of green and arrange them on top of the trees so they cover most of the square.  Adhere and trim off anything that hangs over.

STEP 4: Adhere polka dot paper to the "jungle" square so that it peeks through the window.  Stamp, color, and fussy cut sloths, and hearts.  Cut a little slit in one of the sloth's arms so you can tuck in the die cut hearts.  Cover the backs of each sloth with foam tape.

STEP 5: Arrange sloths on the card and adhere with foam tape.  Add stamped and colored leaves to the branches.  Use the Scalloped Rectangle Die to create two scalloped borders for your card.  Simple trim off and adhere to card.  Stamp greeting on the flag die from the Stitched Elements Die Set and adhere to the bottom of the card.

STEP 6: Use white gel pen to add finishing highlights to the scene!

For the inside of the card, I die cut a Scalloped Rectangle, stamped out my sentiment, and added a small strip of patterned paper along with another leaf die cut.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope this tutorial has inspired you to create your own card using this adorable new set!
