Not 2 Shabby Shop Watermelon Popsicle Treat Topper

Hello!  Today, I'm sharing a fun little Treat Topper using the Watermelon Popsicle Digital Stamp from Not 2 Shabby Shop!  To create this, I started with the Sizzix Treat Bag Topper Die.  I die cut my base from some red polka-dot paper in my stash.  Then I added some embellishments from that line of papers and added my colored image using some foam tape.  I also added a chipboard sun, a couple of flags and a sentiment.  Then I added it to the top of these watermelon candies, the perfect summer treat!

La-La Land Crafts Tutorial Thursday- Adding Dimension to Stamped Images

Hello! Today I have a fun little tutorial on how to add dimension to your stamped images. By using some simple fussy cutting techniques and foam tape, you can add instant dimension to your projects!

Step #1:  Choose an image and stamp the same image out 3 times on Copic-friendly Paper.

Step #2: Using your Copic Markers color up each image.  You want need to color every part of each image.  Just the parts you plan to cut out.  My first image is the body, the middle image is the head, and the 3rd image is going to be our base layer.

Step #3: Using a good pair of scissors, cut out those parts of the image that you colored.  Note that my 3rd image or base layer has a small white border around it.  You can add them or trim right on the line.  Whichever you prefer is fine.

Step #4:  Using foam tape, attach the face to the middle image/body layer.  Then attach the body layer to the 3rd/base layer.

Step #5: Now add white highlights using a gel pen.  There you have it, one adorable 3D image to use on your projects.

Is It Halloween Yet?

Hello!  I'm so excited to be sharing a couple of Picket Fence Studios Halloween cards with you guys.  I don't know about you, but Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday and I always get so excited when companies release their Halloween goodies!

For my first card, I used the New Autumn Harvest Collage Stamp. I stamped it just one time in Black Hybrid Ink.  Then I die cut a black rectangular frame and and created a shaker element by adding some acetate and a handful of Black Magic Sequin Mix.  After my shaker element was created.  I stamped my image again and fussy cut the raven from the collage.  I popped him up on a die cut scalloped circle from my stash and added it to the bottom left of my card.  I also layered on some glitter washi and a stamped sentiment from the Inside Quotes: Christmas Stamp Set.  I just masked off the "Christmas" portion of the sentiment.  And there you have it, a festive fall card with a bit of a spooky feel.

For my next card, I couldn't resist the New Jack O Lanterns Stamp Set.  In fact, the instant I saw it, I squealed with delight.  To begin, I stamped my image once on some copic-friendly card stock.  Then I colored all the pumpkins white except one.  I chose the largest pumpkin in the bottom left corner and colored him up in the traditional orange.  Then I trimmed my paper into a square and mounted that on top of some black card stock.  I trimmed that so there was a 1/8 inch frame all the way around and then mounted that on a deep purple card stock.  I love this stacked frame effect.  It really draws your eye into the image.  Finally, I stamped my sentiment from the Believe in the Magic Set and heat embossed that with white embossing powder.  Sure, this sentiment was meant for Christmas, but if you ask me, it's perfect for Halloween!

For my first card, I used 2 of the sweet little monkey stamps to create a fun safari scene.  First, I started with some green polka dot patterned paper and trimmed it to fit my card base.  Then I die cut a flag from kraft card stock and slipped that behind a white postage stamp die.  Inside the die, I created a pretty safari scene using the Safari Landscape die and my Copic markers.  I added a setting sun, a black bird silhouette and my sentiment matted on some orange card stock.  Then I popped my monkeys on either side using some foam tape.

La-La Land Crafts Critter Fun

Hello!  It's still July and I'm still working on my Christmas cards.  (trying to get a head start).  So, for this week's theme at La-La Land Crafts, I decided to create a sweet little Christmas card featuring these two mice.

For my card, I started with some patterned paper from the Blue Christmas Paper Pack.  Then I added some hills of snow and some die cut tress.  I pieced this sweet little gingerbread house together and placed that in the center of the card. Then I stamped out my little mice, colored them up, and fussy cut them out.  I used some foam tape to pop them onto the card and then stamped out my sentiment and a couple of song notes.  I just love how this turned out.  So sweet!

Paperie Ink Llama Say

Hello, hello!  I hope you are having a great weekend.  Today, I'm excited to share a couple of cards I created using the adorable Llama Say stamp set from Paperie Ink.  As soon as this company made it's debut, I fell in love.  They have the cutest stamps!  And I knew I wanted to create some sweet little cards with them.

For both cards, I used some distress inks in my stash to create my sunset background.  Then I die cut the landscape using the Southwest Border Die from Craftin' Desert Divas.  I colored up my little llamas and Cactus images using Copic Markers and fussy cut them out.  Then I popped them onto my scenes using foam tape.  I just love how these came out.  So much fun!
